SERVICEFRADRAG 2026

Deduct up to DKK 18,300 per person on your Danish tax return for private cleaning — the rules, the numbers, and what you actually save.

WHAT IS THE SERVICEFRADRAG?

The servicefradrag is a Danish tax deduction for labor costs on household services — including cleaning, window cleaning, childcare and gardening. It is part of the BoligJobordning and applies to your primary home while you live there. If you are new to Denmark: yes, this applies to you too, as long as you pay Danish income tax.

WHICH CLEANING SERVICES QUALIFY?

According to skat.dk, the following are covered:

All three of our services qualify: regular home cleaning, deep cleaning and window cleaning.

HOW TO CLAIM IT

  1. Pay digitally — card, MobilePay or bank transfer. Cash payments don't qualify.
  2. Keep the documentation — invoice and payment receipt. We always send an invoice where the labor cost is clearly stated.
  3. Report the amount — on your forskudsopgørelse for 2026 or on the annual tax return in spring 2027, in the service-deduction field.

Full rules at skat.dk (English).

WHAT IT MEANS IN PRACTICE

A quick example: if you pay DKK 1,500 per month for regular home cleaning, that's DKK 18,000 per year — almost exactly the deduction ceiling for one person. At a tax value of about 26%, you save around DKK 4,680, bringing your real annual cost down to about DKK 13,300 — or roughly DKK 1,110 per month.
